Beginning on January 31, 2012, there is a new notice of employee rights posting requirement from the National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”). The new notice requirement will mandate certain legal employers to post a notice that outlines an employees’ rights under the National Labor Relations Act, including rights to form, join, or assist a union or to engage in other forms of collective bargaining with their employer. The NLRB has authority over government entities; however, it is very limited in its authority over private employers. Only those employers that are engaged in “interstate commerce” are required to comply with this regulation. If you aren’t sure if this applies to your company, please contact Swartz Law today!
